Graphite alternatives
Teams look past Graphite's AI reviewer when fixing a finding means buying a Cursor plan as well, or when they want the reviewer to run the code.

The useful distinction
Teams look past Graphite's AI reviewer when fixing a finding means buying a Cursor plan as well, or when they want the reviewer to run the code.
A review bot reads the diff and comments. An agent in a sandbox can also check out the branch, run the tests and push a fix. Both are useful; they are different jobs.
Routing
If you… use… not if
| If you | Use | Not if |
|---|---|---|
| You want to send a task by API or MCP and get back a pull request, report or files with the transcript. | Rush | You need to self-host, use GitLab or Bitbucket, or bring an agent loop of your own. |
| You want line-by-line review on every pull request across GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps or Bitbucket. | CodeRabbit | You want the reviewer to check out the branch and run your tests before it comments. |
| You want review tuned against a codebase graph, self-hosted or air-gapped, across GitLab, Bitbucket or Gitea. | Greptile | You want the reviewer to push the fix itself. |
| You need review across Gerrit or Azure DevOps, on-premises or air-gapped. | Qodo | You want a free plan to start. |

| Tool | Job | What runs | Isolation | Proof | Price | Taps out |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rush | Send a task by API; an agent does it in its own sandbox | Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode | One E2B microVM per run | PR with checks, artifacts, transcript; else needs_review | Free 5 agent-hours / month, then $20 Pro | Three harnesses. GitHub repos only. No self-host. |
| Graphite | Stacked PRs, merge queue and AI review | Graphite Agent; Cursor Cloud Agents | Hosted; GitHub-backed | Review comments; fixes on the branch | Hobby free; Starter $20 / user / mo | GitHub only. Fixes need Cursor. |
| CodeRabbit | AI review comments on every pull request | CodeRabbit (OpenAI and Anthropic models) | Hosted; self-host at 500+ seats | PR comments, fix commits | Free public repos; $24 / dev / mo | Hourly caps. $0.25 per file over. |
| Greptile | Codebase-graph review, plus TREX runtime checks | Greptile reviewer | Hosted or self-hosted; TREX sandbox | PR comments with suggested fixes | Starter free 1 dev; Pro $30 / seat | Credit metered. Fixes via your agent. |

Depth
In depth
Free on public repositories; Essentials $24 / developer / month billed annually ($30 monthly). Checked 17 October 2026.
CodeRabbit
You want line-by-line review on every pull request across GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps or Bitbucket.
An AI code reviewer that posts pull request summaries and line comments on GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps and Bitbucket, learns from your team's replies, and can push fixes.
Comments on every pull request. Fix comments pushes a commit to the branch or opens a stacked pull request, on Essentials and up.
Taps out. Hourly review caps and $0.25 per reviewed file past the allowance. Self-hosting from 500 seats. Fix comments stops on merge conflicts. Its docs do not say reviews run your tests.
Starter free for one developer with 50 credits; Pro $30 / seat / month with 50 credits per seat. Checked 17 October 2026.
Greptile
You want review tuned against a codebase graph, self-hosted or air-gapped, across GitLab, Bitbucket or Gitea.
An AI code reviewer that builds a graph of your codebase, comments on pull requests in about three minutes, and with TREX (public beta) runs the branch in a sandbox to find runtime bugs.
Comments with suggested fixes on GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Gitea, and Perforce on-premises. It does not open fix pull requests; Fix with your Agent hands the issue to a local agent.
Taps out. No Azure DevOps. Fixes need your own local agent. Apex reviews use 10 of a seat's 50 credits. TREX is public beta.
No permanent free tier; 14-day trial; Pro Team listed at $30, for up to 30 users. Checked 17 October 2026.
Qodo
You need review across Gerrit or Azure DevOps, on-premises or air-gapped.
An AI code review and governance platform that reviews every pull request on GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps and Gerrit, with single-tenant and on-premises deployment.
Reviews when a pull request opens, reopens or is marked ready, on five forges including Gerrit.
Taps out. No permanent free tier. Pro Team is for up to 30 users. Azure DevOps has no on-premises option.
Rush
What Rush is
Rush is the alternative to Graphite's AI reviewer and its Cursor fix agents, not to stacking. Many teams can keep Graphite and point Rush at the pull requests.
Honest limits
Skip Rush if
- Rush runs three agents: Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode. It does not host an agent you wrote yourself.
- Repositories come through the Rush GitHub App. A GitLab or Bitbucket repository cannot be a run's repository yet.
- There is no self-hosted or customer-VPC deployment, and we do not publish a compliance report today.
- Compute is metered. Free includes 5 agent-hours a month and Pro 40, each with a weekly ceiling.
- You review the pull request. Rush does not merge for you.
FAQ
Questions people actually ask
What is the best Graphite alternative?
It depends on the part of the job you want to keep. Use CodeRabbit if you want line-by-line review on every pull request across GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps or Bitbucket. Use Greptile if you want review tuned against a codebase graph, self-hosted or air-gapped, across GitLab, Bitbucket or Gitea. Use Qodo if you need review across Gerrit or Azure DevOps, on-premises or air-gapped. Use Rush if you want to send a task by API or MCP and get back a pull request, report or files with the transcript.
Can I move from Graphite to Rush?
Graphite is a review workflow (stacks, merge queue, inbox) that Rush does not replace, so there is no migration. Rush can take over the AI review and the fix runs while Graphite stays.
Where does the code go when I leave?
Anything pushed to your GitHub remote stays there. That is the off-ramp on every product in this set, including Rush.
