# Warp Oz vs Cursor Cloud Agents

Two developer tools that grew cloud agents: Warp from the terminal, Cursor from the editor.

Facts checked 15 September 2026. Prices and limits move. Read the citations.

Neither product is ours. Rush is, and it gets one paragraph below. Every cell is from the vendor's own pages.

**The short answer.** Pick Warp Oz to run Claude Code or Codex in the cloud from the Warp terminal and Slack. Pick Cursor Cloud Agents to run Cursor's Agent from the editor.

## The useful distinction

Warp Oz: Warp's cloud agent platform. It starts Warp Agent, Claude Code or Codex runs from a CLI, an API, Slack, Linear or GitHub Actions, in Docker-based sandboxes on Warp or your own compute.

Cursor Cloud Agents: Cursor's local Agent, moved into isolated cloud VMs. Formerly called Background Agents. Available on paid Cursor plans.

## Buyer questions

| Question | Warp Oz | Cursor Cloud Agents |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What runs | Warp Agent, Claude Code or Codex, picked per run. Claude Code and Codex call their provider directly. | Cursor Agent fundamentals. Curated cloud model list. Not Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode as the primary engine. |
| Isolation | An isolated sandbox per run from a Docker image environment, as a non-root user. Snapshots keep workspace changes for a later handoff. Setup over 30 minutes fails. | Firecracker microVMs in AWS. Auto-runs terminal commands. Privacy Mode supported; Legacy Privacy Mode is not. |
| Result and pull request | Pushes branches and opens pull requests on GitHub, authored by the Warp Factories GitHub App with team authorization. | Works on a separate branch and opens a draft PR. GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket Cloud. |
| MCP | MCP servers configured per environment for the tools a task needs. | HTTP and stdio on Cloud Agents. SSE and mcp-remote are not supported in the cloud. |
| Team | Slack mentions, Linear issue updates, GitHub Actions steps and schedules. SAML SSO on Business. SOC 2 and zero data retention with model providers. | Share a URL. Teammates need the same Cursor team and their own SCM access. Slack, Linear, GitHub, iOS, API. |
| Starting price | Free with limited cloud agents; Build $20 / month with $20 of usage at API rates; Business $50 / user / month | Pro $20 / month; Teams Standard $40 / user / month |
| Where it taps out | Free has limited cloud agents. Self-hosted execution is Enterprise only. Build-plan concurrency is still being finalized. GitHub is the only documented forge. | Requires a paid Cursor plan and an environment snapshot. Multi-repo long-running is not available. Move-to-cloud drops uncommitted files. Prompt-injection risk is documented because commands auto-run. |

## When each side wins

### Warp Oz wins when

- Your team already uses the Warp terminal and its agent.
- You need self-hosted workers and data on Enterprise, with SOC 2 and zero data retention with model providers.
- You want native GitHub Actions and Linear triggers alongside Slack.

### Cursor Cloud Agents wins when

- Your team lives in Cursor and wants the same Agent and rules in the cloud.
- You want draft pull requests on GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps or Bitbucket Cloud.
- You want Slack, Linear, GitHub, iOS and API entry points from one vendor.

## Where Rush sits

Rush is the cloud part alone: an API that runs Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode and returns the result, with no terminal or editor attached.

## Skip Rush if

- Rush runs three agents: Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode. It does not host an agent you wrote yourself.
- Repositories come through the Rush GitHub App. A GitLab or Bitbucket repository cannot be a run's repository yet.
- There is no self-hosted or customer-VPC deployment, and we do not publish a compliance report today.
- Compute is metered. Free includes 5 agent-hours a month and Pro 40, each with a weekly ceiling.
- You review the pull request. Rush does not merge for you.
