Cursor Cloud Agents move Cursor's Agent into Firecracker VMs; Copilot cloud agent works inside GitHub Actions. Both open draft pull requests.

## The useful distinction

Cursor Cloud Agents: Cursor's local Agent, moved into isolated cloud VMs. Formerly called Background Agents. Available on paid Cursor plans.

GitHub Copilot cloud agent: Copilot works in a GitHub Actions environment, plans, edits a branch, and can open a draft PR. Formerly Copilot coding agent. Not Copilot Workspace.

- You want the agent inside GitHub's own firewall and branch protection.
